African coastline. Coloured composite satellite image of the coastline of Guinea-Bissau, west Africa. Silt (light blue) is deposited in complex patterns as the river Geba (blue, centre right) and other rivers flow into the Atlantic Ocean. This image was taken using infrared, red and blue wavelengths. Photographed by the Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus instrument on the joint NASA/US Geological Survey satellite Landsat 7.
