Pennard Castle and Pennard Pill, Three Cliffs Bay, Gower, south Wales

Pennard castle is located in one of the most dramartic locations in Wales at the top of the cliff overlooking the valley of the Pennard Pill (river). A castle was first sited at this location in the 12th century and the present stone castle dates from the late 13th/early 14th centuries. The castle is an open ruin and can be visited at any time by following the pathways through the nearby sand dunes. This view looks north from the adjacent Three Cliffs Bay, itself one of the most beautiful views of the Gower.
