The truth of the matter is, that when we first started to make up the comparative figures between the two constructions, it was a decided surprise to us. Checking np each figure carefully, we found that because we were making more full iron frame liouses than any other, the increased quaatity had reduced the manufacturing cost. Then when it came to erection, the full iron frame, because of both the way it is constructed, and the fact of there being less small things to fasten together on the job, costs much less to erect than the Semi-Iron. We have succeeded in getting the manufacturing costs down 80 fine, that the full iron frame mater- ials by themselves, for the number 2 construction, only cost 10^ more than Semi-Iron. When you hare gone in one of the houses and looked it over point by point, you'll say: "Well, it beats me how L. Sl B. can build it for the same money as the ; -. -'\ The fact remains that we do It. And after all, that's what interests you when it comes to paying for it.
