SIOUX FALLS, - Col. Russ A. Walz, 114th Fighter Wing commander, will be promoted to the rank of Brig. Gen. May 1, 2016 and moving to his new position as the Director of Joint Staff, Joint Force Headquarters, South Dakota National Guard and South Dakota Air National Guard Chief of Staff. Walz has served as the 114th Fighter Wing commander for 10 years and is a command pilot with over 3,750 total fighter hours in the A-7D and F-16C aircraft.
