Birling Gap, East Sussex, UK 20 January Erosion of the chalk cliffs continues with frequent rockfalls, undercutting & fissures extending. Many visitors to the South Coast beauty spot are getting dangerously close to the fragile cliff edge. Recent additional temporary warning signs have disappeared & not been replaced. It seems the old signage is inadequate & does not cater for the hundreds of foreign visitors. The photographer has been advised that talks re signage are ongoing between National Trust & local Councils.
