The color of the fruit when fully ripe, is a rich, bright red, but before reaching this staee it undergoes several interest- ing changes. Frrst, it is light green, then an at- tractive waxy white, then lemon, changing to red. One of the most attractive and handsomest varieties grown, and well adapted for home use and market, on account of its solidity and long- keeping qualities, it is especially recommended for shipping. Its table qualities are excellent, the flesh, when full ripe, being tender and melt- ing, not hard as one might conclude from the solidity of the uncut fruit.
