These openings are similar in form and decoration to those ofthe central arcades, but smaller. The frieze above the second storywindows is ornamented in eacli pavilion with four panels of marblewith bas-reliefs, and this decoration is repeated above the thirdstory window. The only other houses of this period and style which ])reserve inany considerable degree their original ai)pearance are two which ad-join each other on the Grand Canal, not far below the bridge of theKialto — the Casa Loredan and the Casa Farsetti. Both have beenencumbered by Renaissance additions above the original archi-tecture, but below these the forms are not substantiallyvi •v-v-^S^^-^^ changed.
