May I call your attention to the continuing development of thepublic welfare program as a result of the increasing demandsfor the types of social services this agency can render the citizensof the state. Not only have the statutory activities of the agencybeen expanded in an effort to meet the demand for public welfareservices but also new activities directly related to the war havebeen a significant aspect of the work of the biennium.
