THE BRACHIAL ARTERYAnatomy.—The brachial artery commences at the lowermargin of the teres major, and bifurcates at a point on a levelwith the neck of the radius. It lies in the depression along theinner borders of the coraco-brachialis and biceps muscles. In the upper two-thirds of its course it lies on the inner aspectof the shaft of the humerus, and can be compressed againstthe bone by pressure in a direction outwards and slightly back-wards. In its lower third the humerus is behind it, and com-pression, to be effectual, should be directed backwards.
