This clean-looking bird is pretty common in thefummer months on the fea-coafts, rivers and lakes ofthe Britifh Ifles, and is alfo met with in various pjartsof Europe, Afia, and America. It migrates fouth-ward to the Mediterranean, and to the Madeira andCanary Ifles, and northward as far as Spitzbergenand BRITISH BIRDS. 201
