Thencut from 6-inch fencing pieces to nailto outside of V and notched to seton edge of trough 7 inches gives each pig a fair chance and I find I have many less runts than anyother plan I have seen. I have two ofthese troughs 20 feet long and that willaccommodate 100 pigs. I place a coupleof boards to walk on across the top ofthese feeders and do not need to scrapwith the pigs, as I can put the slop introughs anywhere through these Vshaped boards the length of the trough. A Water Boiler Hog Trough. A first-class hog trough can bemade from hot water boilers (asshown by the sketch below) whichoften crack from some cause, and areof no value to the junk man. Whencut in two pieces, you have twosplendid hog troughs. If there is nodiscarded boiler on your place, go tothe junk man—they can be boughtfor fifty cents.
