Lots of smiUng faces around Glenwoodthese days—Time Clerk H. J. Tement canthelp smiling—all on account of a littledaughter arriving at his home. Also R. , roundhouse clerk, who wears a smileon account of the arrival of a daughter. Our sincere sympathy is extended toElectrician and Mrs. R. W. Reilly in thesad loss of their httle daughter, after a shortillness of Scarlet Fever. Demmler, Pa. Who can say that there is a more agree-able crew than Engineer Shuster and Fire-man Diggan. Thev dont come any off to Mr. Shuster! Yardmaster Rush has an awful —timeclaims he would be sitting pretty if it were. Miss Mary Breen, a valued correspondent ofthe Magazine, who has left us to makesomebody else happy not for ash cars. Cheer up, George, itcould be worse. The other day while glancing through acurrent magazine, I noted the following, which appealed to me quite a bit; in fact somuch that I cannot help but quote it:Do You Do Your Work Only by the Day ?If you are a child, building a littlehouse of blocks, you dont care muchhow it turns out. You know youregoing to tumble it over in a minute ortwo. But if you are a grown man, lilding a house in which you expect tolive your whole life—ah! thats different, isnt it? Its the same about work. Ifyou do it only by the day, you dontcare much what you make of it. But ifyou intend to live and die with it, youput your best into it all the time. Ifthat doesnt spur your ambition, nothingwill. These lew words hit the right spot, andit is the way we should feel about our workwith the Baltimore and Ohio. As President
