A fine bedding or pot plant; 18 inches 10 MARIGOI^D. The African and French Marigolds are old favorite fr^e-flowering annuals of easy culture; both are extremely effective. The former have uniformly large yellow or orange-colored flowers, and are well adapted for large beds or mixed borders, the latter are dwarfer in growth, with beautifully striped flowers, and better suited for bedding purposes, or for pot culture; they succeed best in a light soil, with full exposure to the sun. A vase or bowl of any of the rich yellow sorts in combinatioa with a few blue Larkspurs or Cornflowers is very striking. [See also Calendula and T<igetes.) AFRICAN VARIETIES.
