Korte Voorhout. The Hague, Netherlands. Wednesday 13th October, 2021. No worries for the real cast of ‘Saturday Night Fever’ as the cast of ‘Extinction Rebellion Rebels staged: Discobedience – Dance for Life. They staged their own show and danced to the repetitive Bee Gees soundtrack of “Staying Alive”. The group danced through the heart of The Hague city centre, and paused in between their routine, to reminded onlookers of the real seriousness and consequence of today’s event. The action is just ahead of a major UN climate conference, the upcoming COP26 summit in Glasgow, Scotland, between 31 October and 12 November 2021, under the presidency of the United Kingdom. The campaigners want to encourage the government to do more to make the Netherlands climate neutral by 2025. Civil Discobedience originated at XR Melbourne, Australia.
