Sergeant Nathaniel McDonald, motor transportation specialist, Transportation Support Detachment, Combat Logistics Battalion 15, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, instructs Lance Cpl. Oswald Lewis, also a motor transportation specialist with the unit, as he practices Marine Corps Martial Arts Program techniques, while the USS Rushmore leaves San Diego, to begin the 15th MEUs Certification Exercise, Aug. 15. The CERTEX is the MEUs final training exercise before deploying later this year. The two-week training evolution evaluates the units ability to complete missions it may face while forward deployed. McDonald, 28, is from Brooklyn, , and Lewis, 21, is from Miami, Fla.
