Coast Guard members from the USCGC Kiska (WPB 1336) pass out safety information to mariners operating off Maui in the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, Feb. 11, 2016. The Kiska crew along with Coast Guard members from Station Maui and officers from the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources conducted safety and compliance boardings on recreational and commercial vessels to inform the public of the requirements to avoid coming too close to whales or impeding the whales’ path.
