Solicitor, School Superintendent, and a CommonCouncil ciimposed of two members froiu each ward, and theusual ward officers. The community had been very muchdi\-ided as to the question of incorporation, so much so thatvoters were not enthused over the election. A fair votewas, however, polled, the result being a Repul)lican the division of the city. Commerce street was made theline between the First and Second wards, all north and east (22(1).
