Industrial Schools.—In the Widener Industrial School for CrippledChildren in Philadelphia the children spend a large portion of the time dayand night in the open air; good food is given, and teaching is conductedas much as possible out of doors. Forshelter, a pavilion with glass roof and sides gives full access to the sun, andtoilet-rooms for girls and boys are provided. The school provides hospitaltreatment with educational and manual training until the cripple arrivesat the age of twenty-one, or has secured a self-sustaining occupation. Forest Schools.—For feeble children, forest schools should be in-augurated where instruction can be given to the children with their lungsfilled with pure air and their brains supplied with well-oxygenated , learning under such surroundings would be both rapid andattractive.
