The Market. Trade has quieted down considerably in the last two weeks, owing largely to the fact that most of the bedding, etc., has been finished for the present sea- son. This business was good and the plants were cleaned up nicely, with the exception, possibly, of a few geraniums that failed to be in bloom. Everything in bloom was sold early and there have been few geraniums in bloom since Me- morial week. June weddings and com- mencements made a little stir last week, but the commencements are about over and trade is expected to be somewhat quiet from now on. Eoses are fine, but the quantity has dropped away down, as some of the growers are only cutting from summer stock and it is rather light, though of good quality. Ophelia, Maryland, Kai- serin and Bulgarie are the main varie- ties at present. Carnations are getting rather small; the demand for them has decreased so that there are enough and to spare, even with many torn out. Sweet peas are fine and plentiful, as several new crops are just starting. Valley has been a little scarce lately, and a
