Wendover Dean, UK. 8th August, 2024. HS2 construction work on the HS2 Wendover Dean Viaduct in Wendover Dean, Buckinghamshire is continuing on the HS2 High Speed Rail link from London to Birmingham. HS2 are building the 450m long Wendover Dean viaduct with 38 steel beams. The half kilometre viaduct will be the first major railway bridge in the UK to be built with a ‘double composite’ structure. The HS2 works have meant the destruction of a large piece of the nearby ancient woodland at Jones Hill Wood. The farmhouse at Durham Farm was also demolished by HS2. Credit: Maureen McLean/Alamy
