A devious Dalek maze and programming the BBC Make It Digital summer oneself into a Dalek and attempt to outwit the Cyber men in a virtual reality game controlled by coding or take over the weather to make 2015 a 'barbecue summer' on the BBC Make It Digital tour. Throughout the summer the tour will visit 13 locations across the UK giving opportunities to learn more about the digital world and coding - and showcasing local innovations and knowledge. Robogals will be on hand to help visitors to tackle the devious Dalek maze while the Royal Meteorological Society will demonstrate how to become a weather watcher. The Raspberry Pi Foundation will show how to programme their tiny computer to give a personalised weather forecast and find out how digital technology has changed the way that your local news is gathered. Between 1000-1700 today and 1100 – 1700 on Sunday, where you can see how Minecraft has been used to re-design the Dundee waterfront, meet the BBC micro:bit and make your own Beano game with Code Club. Doctor Who offers the chance to get to grips with coding by programming The Doctor’s arch enemy, the Daleks. On their quest to retrieve the Orb of Fates, children are encouraged to become a live Dalek, shoot a Cyberman, then drop the drawbridge, before attempting to tackle the devious Dalek maze as part of the BBC’s Doctor and the Dalek game. Some lucky visitors to the event could also get the chance to present the weather with their BBC local weather presenter Chris Blanchett from BBC Scotland.
