The July meeting of the Indiana State Florists' Association was held at Mad- ison, Ind., Wednesday, July 14. The In- dianapolis delegation left Wednesday morning at 8 a. m. and enjoyed a pleas- ant trip through attractive scenic coun- try. The ride to Madison is unusual be- cause of a fall of six feet to every 100 feet of distance. L. E. Hitz, Madison, had arranged au- tomobile trips through all parts of Mad- ison. The city, because it is the second oldest in the state, is unusually inter- esting. In the afternoon Hanover Col- lege and the Cragmont asylum were vis- ited. A ferry boat was converted into a pleasure boat and a trip was made down the Ohio river. On the Kentucky side of the river a large warehouse was seen which contained 15,000 barrels of whisky and, needless to say, there were many dry tongues, but it was a case of: "Whisky, whisky everywhere, but not a drop to ; In the evening a chicken supper was served at John Hitz's farm, which was followed by a swim in the river and a visit to ClefEty Falls. The business meeting was a short one. Fred Boss, Greenwood; Frazier Hitz, North Madison; Matthew Schlitz, La- porte; Theodore D. Kuebler, Jr., Indian- apolis, and John Kilcoyn, Indianapolis, were elected to membership. Irwin Ber- termann gave a short talk
