A miniature casket, ambit Michael Mann, Nuremberg circa 1600 Rectangular body made from fire-gilt brass with hinged lid on four ball feet (one foot with a soft solder repair). The edges reinforced with openwork, engraved brass straps. All sides with fine engraving of warrior heads in bays with columns. The lid with movable carrying handle, central keyhole with sliding cover. On the inside a finely worked mechanism with four latches. The chaplet and the hollow shank key are replacements.
