The two flags with which the statue had been draped weregiven to Enfield Church and to the old Town Hall by the donorsof the memorial. During the singing of the National Anthem theywere slowly raised to the flagstaffs prepared for them under theporticos of the two venerable buildings so closely associated withthe Abbey Memorial. 154
