Loudoun County VirginiaÕs expanding business community in a line that flows from east to west is leaving its agricultural history behind. The future is now fueled by fast-growing start-ups and information technology. Family farmers and small retailers are closing up shop, making way for national chains and billion-dollar corporations. The area used to have more than 100 dairy farms, now it has two. No make that one. This is the Welsh dairy farm that has just gone out of business after 148 years of operation.
