The hardened steelface plates on the brake shoes, which come in contactwith the brake cam, are double wedges with notches giv-ing one millimeter adjustments. Finally, the brake shoesare slightly eccentric. It is claimed that with perfectlyconcentric shoes only a line contact is obtained, whereasif made slightly eccentric the slight spring which sets up.
