It is presumed the species it snacked on was a Tiger shovelnose catfish. BRAZIL: THIS RAVENOUS fifty-five-pound otter was caught nabbing a fishy meal before ripping it up with its razor-sharp teeth. Spectacular scenes revealed a six-foot-long giant river otter as it slurped up a shocked-looking catfish and bit the black-and-yellow striped prey in two. Another image captured the adult otter as it showed off its bloodied teeth for the camera. The pictures were taken by David Waite (27), a Belfast-born photographer who now lives in London, UK. He shot the scenes in the Rio São Lourenço River, Mato Grosso, Brazil. He used a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and Canon 100-400 lens to snap the largest weasel species for an hour. @davidwaitewildlife/DavidWaite
