AUSTIN, TEX. Florists' Association Formed. Local florists met Tuesday night, April 28, at the store of the Hyde Park Floral Co. and organized the Austin Florists' Association. Purposes of the association as outlined at the meeting are to promote a more fraternal feeling among the florists, horticulturists and nurserymen, to advance business inter- ests of the members, to assist customers along floricultural lines, and "to pro- mote the best interests of this state and city by keeping Austin money at home as far as ; Officers elected by the association were: President, H. B. Beck, superintend- ent of the university grounds; vice- president, Charles Alff, St.; secretary, Edgar Hall; treasurer, Olaf Olson. Those who attended the first meet- ing of the association are Charles Alff, Charles H. Alff, William Alff, H. B. Beck, E. Friedrich, Edgar Hall, Earl T. Ines, H. B. Miller. BOWLING AT ASTORIA, N. Y.
