Take up the roots in November or before severe frosts; cut off tops within an inch ot the crown, store in cool cellar or pit, or pile up in a conical form, out of doors in diy ground; cover carefully with long straw, and finish by eaithing up, covering them with about 12 or 15 inches of earth, leaving a trench aronnd the heap to carry off the water.
