Wourali.—A name given to a poison, which is prepared by the Macousi Indians, of South ,America, and used by them on the points of their arrows. ^ This poison has been advocated by some in the treatment of locked-jaw, in the horse, but in my experience nothing favorable can be said of it as a cure for this terrible disease. The power of this poison is so great, that in four minutes after an ox, of one thousand pounds weight, was pierced in each thigh by an arrow poisoned with it, the poison took effect, and in a few minutes more his head and legs ceased to move.
