It is an integral part of the public educational system of the State,and is designed to complete the work begun in the primary ample facilities are furnished for instruction in literature andin science, and in the professions of medicine, law, dentistry, andpharmacy. In all of the colleges, except the professional collegeslocated in San Francisco, tuition is offered free to all persons who arequalified for admission. FUNDS. The funds upon which the College of Letters and the Colleges ofScience in the University are maintained are derived from varioussources, and include the following endowments : 1. The Seminary Fund and Public Building Fund, granted to theState by Congress. 2. The property received from the College of California, includingthe site at Berkeley. 3. The fund derived from the Congressional Land Grant
