The glaucous gull [Larus hyperboreus] is a large gull which breeds in the Arctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere and the Atlantic coasts of Europe. Seen here in full flight at Kolgrafafjorour, near the small fishing village of Grundarfjordur, Iceland. A graduated polarising filter has been used to emphasis and isolate the subject.
