Leucojum is a genus of hardy bulbous plants, na- tives of the Mediterranean region. The species chiefly cultivated in this country is the Spring Snowflake, Leuco- jum vernum. It has not the characteristic grace of the snowdrop, the stems being sturdier, the arch quite dif- ferent in character, and the perianth segments all simi- lar in size, form, and mark- ings.
