We have an unusually large squad this year,—Voight as Captain; Hilmer,Tidmarsh, Temiplin, and Ellinwood playing on the first team; Meredith, Niles,Clement, Nieman, Schowengerdt, Hill, Bollinger, and Faulk forming the rest ofthe squad. The school spirit has been exceptionally good, a large number attend-ing the games, and considerable interest being shown. four Hundred Fifteen Garrett The Tennis Team. EllinwoodWoodward BUTHMAN Warner 1920 SEASON Unusual interest in tennis marked the year 1920 at Garrett. This was due tothe large number of good players in school. Competition for places on the teamwas close. In the Invitation Tournaments for all players Warner took first placein both of the matches held. His work was consistently good throughout the seasonand in the singles he lost no set during the year in any inter-seminary match. The year opened auspiciously when Garrett defeated Wheaton college on thehome courts, 2-1. In the singles Warner won and Pyun lost; in the doubles Pyunand Woodward took the closest contest of the day at 6-3; 6-4. Two contests held with McCormick Seminary, one in Chicago, and the otherin Evanston, were both lost. The scores of 4-2 and 5-1 might make one think theGarrett team unusually weak. It must be borne in mind however that JMcCormickwas the strongest of the inter-seminary teams. Warner, Woodward, Ellingwood, and Buthman represented Garrett
