It is ideal for "pick your own" plantings. Redchief s sweet flavor, uniform red color, and firm glossy surface make it a high quality dessert berry. It makes good jam, and its high quality is also maintained when frozen. Being a firm berry it ships very well and holds up during the picking season. REDCHIEF is resistant to five strains of red stele, leaf scorch, mildew, and moderately resistant to Verticillium wilt. The plants have medium vigor, make a good matted row, and produce above average yields. Redchief has performed very well from Maryland north to Massachusetts and west to Illinois. There are nothing but good reports from commercial growers in Michigan. With Rayner's virus-free plants, you will be more than pleased with this wonderful new variety. 25 Plants $; 50 for $; 100 for $; 500 for $; 1,000 for $ January 7, 1970 Furcha&ed 50 -plants of Redchief last year from you which look very promising.
