KURIL ISLANDS, PACIFIC OCEAN: A RARE albino killer whale called Iceberg has been rediscovered by scientists as the male Orca journeyed across the Pacific Ocean. Not sighted since Spring 2012, marine researchers have been desperately trying to confirm the 22-year-old all-white marine mammal was still alive. Just one-in ten thousand killer whales, also known as Orcas, are completely white. The heart-warming news of Iceberg’s survival off the coast of Russia’s Kuril Islands was reported by American researcher Erich Hoyt (65) of the Far East Russia Orca Project (FEROP).
