AIDS VIRUS INFECTION, DRAWING

Replication of a retroviral virus. Representation of the penetration and replication of a retrovirus (such as the AIDS virus) in a host cell. The virus enters the cell, its RNA undergoes reverse transcrition into DNA which is incorporated in the DNA of the host cell. This compels the latter to produce all the components of the virus (proteins and DNA). These elements then gather on the surface of the host cell to form large numbers of new viruses that will invade the host organism.
