Feathered Tunic, Peru, 1470/1532. Cat and bird motif embellished with rare and valuable feathers from macaws, parrots, toucans, cotingas and tanagers from the tropical forests of South America, transported across the treacherous peaks of the Andes. The tunic was buried with its owner in dark, dry tomb which preserved its bright colours.
