A winter sunrise at the entrance to the Alfred Basin, Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa
Restored in 1997 and originally the Port Captain's Office built in 1882, the Clock Tower, on the right of the shot, marks the entrance to the Alfred Basin, the oldest part of Cape Town's Victoria and Alfred harbour area. The time is am, so the swing bridge across the entrance is operating, so early morning workers can cross to the Waterfront's shops, hotels and bistros.
