Pittosporuiu cornitoliiun—Flower {^ nat. size) as in f)ther plants oi the genus, are nnhedded in gluten, which,, m this case, is of a yellow colour. The seeds themselves are blackisli purple, and when the capsule opens, it discloses the inner side of the valves, which are of a bright orange. The combination of colours is very striking. It is probal)ly intended to attract birds, but, a]i)i)arently, no investigation lias, been made to ascertain whether tlie seeds pass uninjured.
