SASEBO, Japan (Dec. 18, 2015) – Cmdr. Kirk Knox, forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) operations officer, presents a holiday wreath to Cmdr. Shin Makino, Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) Shirane-class destroyer JDS Kurama (DDH 144) executive officer, in hangar bay aboard Kurama. Bonhomme Richard is the lead ship of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group and is forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan in the 7th Fleet area of operations.
