Streaking north over the rugged mountain territory of Korea, these Air Force F-86 Sabre jets of the 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing stay alert for Communist MIG-15s. The Sabre pilots of the 51st and 4th Fighter Interceptor Wings set a new record against the Russian-built interceptors in September, destroying 61, probably destroying another seven, and damaging 57 others. Only four Sabre jets were lost in air-to air engagements, during the month, one-fifteenth of the Red loss.
