The advantages of this rheostat are that it is flat, it occupies a verylittle space, it cannot be upset, and the connections are practically inde-structible. It can be readily removed from the cabinet or table andtransported for use elsewhere, though its size (the diameter being aboutseven or eight inches) makes it rather an awkward instrument for carry*ing conveniently in a bag.
