The Wiener Riesenrad, Vienna, Austria, c1935. The Riesenrad (ferris wheel) in the Prater amusement park in Leopoldstadt, Vienna, is one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. It was built in 1897, and was the world's tallest extant ferris wheel from 1920 until 1985. The Riesenrad featured in the post-World War II film noir "The Third Man" (1949).
