The swamps along the Blackwater and Meherrin Rivers and thewestern border of the Dismal Swamp contain other surprising a swamp along the Meherrin River near Emporia we found thegrass nymph (Satyrodes eiirydicc), and Dr. G. W. Rawson found itin a swamp near New Bohemia on the Blackwater. Elsewhere wehave found this species only in Fairfax County, and at Burks Gardenin Tazewell County.
