May Gibbs Nutcote museum, Neutral Bay: May Gibbs (1877-1969), creator of Australia’s classic children’s story “The Complete Adventures of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie” lived and worked at Nutcote for 44 years. The cottage, built in 1925, was designed by BJ Waterhouse and its garden was an inspiration for many of her characters ad stories. Here she wrote “Scotty in Gumnutland”, “Mr and Mrs Bear and Friends”, “Prince Dande Lion” and her weekly comic strip “Bib and Bub”.
