It's the Little Things That Count, Too. Moving through the Philippines with the American army a Coast Guard combat photographer has come across many scenes of devastation, thirst, hunger resulting from Jap occupation. The army has done its best to remedy this. Faced with the problem of contaminated water, it has laid emergency pipelines in every area we've won. This scene of a Filipino youngster drinking from a pure water tap is repeated throughout the area. Families carry away buckets of water for laundry purposes.
