'' The best is none too good for Des Moines," lie observed. • • * • The Guthrie-Lorenz Floral Co., Des Moines, is paying closer attention to the floral department and less to seeds and supplies, on the theory that one tiling done well often is best. W. M. OMAHA, NEB. The Market. Business liore last week was a little less trying than the week previous. There is an oversupply of asters and gladioli. Prices run all the way from $2 to $4 per hundred on the best gladi- oli. Asters are arriving in good condi- tion and the price is holding up fairly for the best. Roses are plentiful at any price. Premier and Russell are the ones in jieaviest crop. Some fine Easter lilies are arriving. Zinnias, coreopsis and larksjiur form a veritable glut on the market. Various Notes. Everyoiif here seems pleased with the Sunday closing idea. A considerable number from here attended the S. A. F. convention at Kansas City. Among the out-of-town visitors last week were J. H. Baker, of Olympia, Wash.; H. C. Neubrand, of the Roman J. Irwin New York; A. Alberts, of the Fhirists' Credit Association, Chi- cago; Julius Dilloff, of Wertheimer Bros., Philadelphia; Lawrence Poll- worth, Milwaukee, and Charles Edgar, of the McCallum Co., Pittsburgh. The annual picnic of the Omaha and Council Bluffs Florists' Club will be held at Krug park August 25. T. E. E. FORT WA
