Luxor, Egypt - 30 November 2010; The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III sitting on his hieroglyth-inscribed throne. This pharoah reigned in Egypt during the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt (#1550 - 1292 BCE). Since 1350 BCE, they have stood in the Theban Necropolis, located west of the River Nile from the modern city of Luxor. As you can see, they are somewhat the worse for wear after nearly 3400 years of standing
