, Heybeliada, Istanbul, Turkey - A group of Greek visitors in front of the Halki Seminary of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople in the Greek Orthodox Agia Triada Monastery closed in 1971 by the Turkish public authorities. Halki (also Chalki), established in 1844, was one of the most important educational institutions of the orthodox world. Now the Ecumenical Patriarchate lacks trainees. In March 2010 die Turkish government announced the reopening of Halki required by the EU within the framework of the accession talks. Heybeliada (Greek: Halki) is one of the Princes' Islands in the Sea of Marmara, off Istanbul.
